Congratulations!! 2019 Recipient's

 In 2015, I was given the opportunity to concurrently attend a college and high school program.  Graduating with my Associates Degree before receiving my high school diploma was, one of the toughest and most rewarding experiences I've encountered as a young adult.  I am now enrolled at Nevada State College and pursing a double major: Bachelor's Degree of Public Administration in Law Enforcement and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.  Just shy of a few courses, I have completed my pre-requisite requirements and I am on an ambitious track to receiving my degree within the next year.   

I am applying for as many scholarships as I can find but many of them are mostly need-based, activity, or age specific.  Choosing these majors, was not the easiest majors nor popular to pursue, but I hope will one day help me to make a difference.  

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth", Muhammad Ali.  I have the responsibility to aid my community in any way possible.  I must take initiative to construct the positive society that I want to create for others and myself.  I admire that this scholarship bolsters the importance of community service and glorifies the beauty of a diverse community.  I wholeheartedly enjoy aiding my community,  and only hope to continue to do so; therefore, the scholarship founders', mission statement of assistance and acceptance towards the community in Las Vegas motivated me to apply.  

The founders vision of this scholarship is similar to mine, as it hopes to positively impact its community. So I felt compelled to apply to this scholarship because it supports my community service oriented ideals, would lessen my financial troubles, and enable me to continue my academic trajectory.
